Open Space
The second compact targeted open space within the Truckee Meadows, with a consortiuum of nonprofits (Keep Truckee Meadows Beautiful, Hands on Northern Nevada (a United Way program), the Nevada Land Conservancy, the Girl Scouts of the Sierra Nevada) along with Sierra Pacific Power (now NV Energy), from October 2001-September 2002. Community-wide Indicators
Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) launched its fourth quality of life compact in May 2003 with the United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra (UWNNS) to address all 30 of TMT's quality of life indicators. United Way worked with its funded partner agencies over 2-years to identify and address community-wide needs, tieing nearly $1 million in community funding to outcomes and indicators relating to quality of life. Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) announced its fifth quality of life compact July 2004 to address voter turnout (one of the economic vitality community indicators) between the New Voters Project, Nevada Museum of Art, Washoe County Registrar of Voters, Washoe County Library, and TMT.
