Neecie Schlesener and James Pezonella, Truckee Meadows Water Authority have been caught in the act improving our community’s Quality of Life by educating school children about one of our most valuable natural resources--water.

Truckee Meadows Water Authority (TMWA) receives many requests to speak to any of a variety of groups, ranging from the Rotary Clubs to school children.  It is this last group where Neecie and James excel.  Their infectious enthusiasm regarding their topics enables them to inform and educate thousands of children about the importance and responsible uses of one of our areas most precious resources…water.  They do this in an entertaining and engaging manner, and while they truly enjoy speaking to the kids, they really take the responsibility of educating the children seriously--from various water sources to efficient water consumption whether for drinking water, recreation or wildlife habitat for today and into the future.

Through their work in TMWA’s education programs, Neecie and James have positively impacted our Natural Environment through the Clean & Available Water Indicator.
