TMT will convene forum and focus groups, promote personal and organizational adoption of quality of life indicators and measure progress as community efforts are developed in wellness, preventive healthcare, social wellbeing and perceptions of safety.
“Positive change requires the cooperation, collaboration and good energy of an entire community,” said Zanny Marsh, board member and past president of Truckee Meadows Tomorrow. “Let’s use this information to identify the strategies and potential solutions that promote quality of life for our young people.”
TMT is the only non-partisan, grassroots organization that gathers and reports measurable indicator data that can be easily accessed by funders, nonprofits, educators, businesses, government entities, community leaders, policy-makers, active citizens and youth in Nevada.
TMT facilitates the collaboration of community groups, businesses, and individuals on community causes and sustainable improvement through its “Adopt an Indicator” program. Indicator adoption is free and anyone in the community can do it.
“Without tracking quality of life indicators, we wouldn’t have a compass to guide us in the direction we want to move as a community and we wouldn’t have coordinates to know where we stand in the present to plan the best route to the future,” Marsh said.
TMT hosts “Accentuate the Positive,” the biannual community-wide event that recognizes the individuals and organizations that have succeeded in advancing quality of life indicators. TMT’s “Accentuate the Positive” drew more than 500 attendees to its Oct. 8 luncheon.
