“Caught in the Act” program recognizes those improving quality of life

Community Members Honored by Truckee Meadows Tomorrow

(RENO, Nev.) – Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) announced the next round of honorees to be recognized through its “Caught in the Act” program.  The individuals and organizations honored were “caught in the act” of improving the quality of life in the Truckee Meadows by positively impacting one or more of the community’s 33 Quality of Life Indicators. 

Caught in the Act Honorees for the natural environment, open space indicator:

• Lynda Nelson, Washoe County Regional Parks & Open Space - For her work with the Great Truckee Meadows Community Cleanup and Illegal Dumping Task Force.
• Andre Stigall, City of Sparks Parks & Recreation - For the outstanding job she has done in promoting and involving the public in Sparks Parks & Recreation projects and events, and for raising public awareness about open space issues.
• Mike Kelly, City of Sparks Parks & Recreation - For his efforts in keeping Sparks’ open space and river areas clean and full of healthy trees.
• Bob Harmon, Washoe County Regional Parks and Open Space – For his work promoting and involving the public in Washoe County Park projects and events, and for raising public awareness about open space issues.

These individuals will be honored at TMT’s membership meeting on Thursday, Sept. 25 from 7:30 to 8:45 a.m. at Remedees meeting room at Renown Health/Advance Medicine Health Building. The meeting is open to the public and will also feature a Listen to Learn session with the Washoe County School District Board of Trustees.  For more information, visit www.truckeemeadowstomorrow.org.
