Annual Membership Meeting
December 15, 2005, 7:30 - 9:00 AM : KNPB Channel 5 Public Broadcasting / Community Room
1670 N. Virginia Street, Reno, NV 89503

FEATURE: Senior Issues & Community Indicators

Ever wonder how you’ll support your parent’s aging needs, in addition to your kids?  Or how you’ll remain independent, as you get older, whether or not you have kids?  Or how the community might measure issues important to seniors?  Come find out what Philip D. Shapiro, MHA, Developer & Owner, Promenade on the River has to say at TMT’s annual membership meeting, set for Thursday, December 15th, beginning at 7:30 AM at KNPB Channel 5 Public Broadcasting (just north of Lawlor Events Center).

The meeting is open and should be of importance to anyone interested in senior generational issues important to families, as well as businesses.  Getting older costs money and unpredictable aging has huge economic consequences.  According to Shapiro, ”in our society, it is almost tabooish to have the adult children and senior parent generations speaking about delicate subjects such as finances, physical health, ability to drive, depression, death, etc.  I encourage people to break the cycle and begin to embrace the aging of the parent(s) and their own aging.

The election of new board members and TMT officers for 2006 is also scheduled for the annual meeting, along with a review of 2005 TMT activities, as well as plans for 2006.

The meeting will be held in the Community Room at KNPB Channel 5, just north of UNR.  A complimentary continental breakfast will be served, no reservations are needed and parking is available in front of the building (permits will be available on-site for parking behind the building).  Attendees should not park in the adjacent post office lot.

As TMT’s tag line says, “You make a difference.  We measure it.”
