FEATURE: Affordable Housing Issues and Opportunities
Are you concerned about the escalation in housing prices in northern Nevada? Do you worry that your children may never be able to own their own home in the future? Be informed about affordable housing issues and come to the next Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) general membership meeting, set for Thursday, March 24, 2005, beginning promptly at 7:30 AM at Washoe Medical Center.
The meeting will feature Nancy Muniz, Community Development Manager, Charles Schwab Bank to discuss TMT’s newest Affordable Housing Compact designed to measurable improve affordable housing (one of the land use and infrastructure quality of life indicators) opportunities throughout northern Nevada.
David Morton and JoAnn Ellers from the Reno Housing Authority will be present to briefly discuss the Hillboro Place alternative housing renovation of the blighted Friendship Lane neighborhood in northeast Reno.
Paul Curtis will also be present to briefly discuss the Kiley Ranch North Master Plan to balance housing and jobs within one community in the northern Sparks sphere of influence.
This meeting should be of importance to anyone interested in learning more about housing issues and their impact on our quality of life.
The meeting will be held in the Remedees meeting rooms at Washoe Professional Center, just behind Remedees restaurant. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served, no reservations are needed and convenient free parking is available in the parking garage off Second St. Guests, as well as members, are invited to attend.
