General Membership Meeting
July 27, 2004, 7:30 - 9:00 AM
Remedees Meeting Rooms (Washoe Professional
Center, Washoe Medical Center, Pringle Way, Reno, NV 89502)
FEATURE: Regional Transportation Plan Update
Are you a frustrated driver in the Truckee Meadows? Is your bicycle buried behind boxes in the garage? Is riding the bus out of the question? Do you drive over 25 miles per day and worry over the high price of gasoline? If you answered yes to any of these questions, come to the next Truckee Meadows Tomorrow (TMT) general membership meeting, set for Tuesday, July 27, 2004 beginning promptly at 7:30 AM at Washoe Medical Center.
The meeting will feature Derek Morse, Regional Transportation Commission (RTC) Deputy Executive Director as he discusses the regional transportation plan update (RTP2030). The RTP2030 will directly affect TMT’s quality of life indicators in the land use and infrastructure category. Affordable housing isn’t always near your workplace and public transportation isn’t always near your home. Consequently, well- invested road dollars must consider the number of miles you travel daily and resulting traffic congestion, as well as air quality impacts.
The meeting should be of importance to anyone interested in learning more about Washoe County’s transportation network and traffic impacts from current and proposed residential and commercial development across the Truckee Meadows. Public input and participation in the plans is a key to future success. Additional information can be found at http://www.RTC2030update.com.
The meeting will be held in the Remedees meeting rooms at Washoe Professional Center, just behind Remedees restaurant. A complimentary continental breakfast will be served, no reservations are needed and convenient free parking is available in the parking garage off Second St. Guests, as well as members, are invited to attend.
As TMT’s tag line says, “You make a difference. We measure it.”
