TMT is the independent, trusted organization that gathers, manages, and shares quality of life data to inform and foster positive change in the community.
For almost 30 years, TMT has been—and continues to be—the leading source of quality of life data and the trusted conduit for meaningful community conversations in northern Nevada. TMT connects with the residents of our Truckee Meadows community to uncover what matters most to the people who live, work, and play here—and then advocates for positive change for our citizens.
TMT endeavors to democratize data by providing our northern Nevada community with the most accurate, timely, relevant information possible through our many new and popular initiatives. The two most popular are the Nevada Tomorrow Community Data Tool and the Community Conversation Speaker Series.
Now, TMT is still the leading source of community quality of life data and conduit for meaningful conversation in northern Nevada. Our two latest offerings — the NevadaTomorrow.org Community Data Exchange Tool and the Community Conversation Speaker Series — are examples of our cutting-edge innovations designed to meet your needs.
Board of Director Responsibilities
The Truckee Meadows Tomorrow Board of Directors is a working board—not just a governing board. Members provide programmatic vision and support high-level strategic planning as well as governing and financial oversight of our organization. Board members also contribute to the organization's overall financial health by supporting outreach and fundraising activities. Board members serve a 3 year term, and Board officers serve a 2 year term. As a Board member, you would play a critical role in ensuring that we continue to realize our mission, successfully implement programming, and achieve short-term/long-term goals.
Board member responsibilities include the following:
-
Support annual fundraising efforts by making a personal contribution (typically $300-500 per board member) and having others donate on your behalf (typically between $2,500 and $50,000).
-
Read and understand financial statements, in order to ensure that TMT is fulfilling its fiduciary responsibilities.
-
Participate in all organized fundraising efforts.
-
Represent TMT's values/work by serving as an ambassador to the community.
-
Participate in decision making around issues, policies, and other board matters.
-
Stay informed about our current programs, outcomes, and future strategic plans.
-
Attend majority Board meetings (typically 6 meetings annually).
-
Serve on at least one standing committee (Outreach, Finance, Fundraising, Nominating, or Data).
-
Act in the best interest of TMT and avoid conflicts of interest.
