Michael Brazier and Michele Montoya named new members of the TMT Board of Directors


Help us welcome Michael Brazier and Michele Montoya to the TMT board of Directors. We are thrilled to have them bring their leadership, passion and expertise to our growing Board. read more about their impressive impact.



Michael Brazier serves as the CEO/President of United Way of Northern Nevada and the Sierra, where he has the responsibility of delivering on the organization’s mission to link the community’s will and resources to improve lives in our community. He is implementing the organization’s business plan and initiative of improving grade-level reading. Previously, he has led development efforts for leading national health organizations. Most recently, he served as the nationwide strategy lead for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital walk/run program, introducing a volunteer-driven model and increasing corporate engagement that grew revenue by 20% to over $12 million. He started his career in in various roles at the American Cancer Society, where he led community events and staff across northern Nevada and Idaho. He also served in a division-wide strategic role supporting the Relay For Life program. On top of his professional positions bettering our community, Michael spends time volunteering at Center for Spiritual Living, and has served as volunteer chair for Northern Nevada Pride. Additionally, he has volunteered with the school district and the homeless youth count.

 

Michele Montoya is the Development and Programs Administrator for the Nevada Women’s Fund (NWF). She administers the NWF scholarship and community grant programs, and manages donor outreach and communications, as well as the the organization's donor database. Her background includes experience in strategic fund-raising, donor

management, data management, affordable housing and economic development programs, and fiscal management. Michele is active in the community through her participation as board and committee member in multiple nonprofit organizations at the federal, state,

and local levels. She is the current treasurer of Truckee Meadows Healthy Communities, an advocacy organization working with local partners to identify high impact solutions to address data-driven health needs in our community.


Michele has also served as board member for the State of Nevada Energy Policy Advisory Committee; The National Community Action Partnership Community Development Financial Institution Committee; the Region IX Community Action Board; the National Community Action Partnership Board; and has participated as a member of the National Department of Energy Weatherization Advisory Committee, as well as the Truckee Meadows Human Services Network.


Her varied experience provides valuable perspective to the organizations to which she is dedicated, and she is committed to working collaboratively as a team member in setting vision, working to assure organizational success, while keeping a close eye on fiscal responsibility. Her interests outside of work include rock-hounding, yoga, reading,

traveling, and cycling.

 

We wholeheartedly believe that having local community institutions represented on TMT’s board is critical. We hope you are as excited as we are to have Michael and Michele
